Wythe County Broadband Internet Survey

The Board of Supervisors recently approved the funding for a Broadband survey/study for Wythe County. This will allow Wythe County Public Schools to gain valuable data to present to state and federal funding sources to hopefully provide high speed, reliable internet to the many under served households in Wythe County.

WCPS Inclement Weather Information

As winter weather approaches, WCPS will continue to monitor safety conditions
for our students and staff. At times, we will have traditional “snow days”. We feel it is important not to take the magic of a “snow day”
away so our children have something time-honored to remain in their lives. But there maybe times, especially
when we can predict imminent weather coming, where we will have to utilize digital learning. This option may be used
when we have missed an excessive amount of days and in-person
learning is not feasible due to inclement weather.

WCPS Attendance Guidelines

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday
Students will be required to attend every class in-person and/or

regularly scheduled classes.

Teachers will communicate these times with their students
through CANVAS.

· Students will complete assignments independently for each
class on Wednesdays as assigned by the teachers.

· To be counted present, the student should complete their
Wednesday assignments in each class.

· If students complete their work early, they are not absent.

Special Circumstances

and/or distance learning student may be required to participate in
live meets on a Wednesday.

Some examples may include but not limited to, small group
instruction, individual instruction, or remediation or
enrichment opportunities.
Teachers will provide advanced notice of these circumstances.
